The machine is more than I expected. I bought this used, it didn't come with a Spool Stand or Spool Pin. I couldn't find anyplace to buy them. I ended up making my own. I also researched new ones and they appear not to come with the Spool Stand and Spool Pin either. The machine works well other than that. But it appears that Singer doesn't support it.

It would be great if it kept working. I bought for my 8 yr old grandchild's birthday who wanted to learn how to sew. With my constant adult supervision it quit working after the 3rd use. It was not abused or incorrectly threaded. The top thread will no longer pick up the bottom thread. I'm an experienced sewer with many years of knowing how to take care of my own machine. This little Singer product was a big disappointment and I have a grandchild in tears now because it won't work. Wasted my money. Advice: Buy a real sewing machine for your child to learn on.

Good beginner machine. It comes with extra supplies and very well built for a starter machine. The only problem is I am not really able to test whether it sews well because the needle thread adjustment knob was broken off of my machine when I purchased it on Ebay. I tried to fix it but the manual does not come with instructions for it. Singer, the makers had no updated information on the Tiny Tailor either. Also, please note that if you are looking to mend clothing or for small jobs, this would be ideal for you, but for making your own clothing, especially denim, I would suggest the Shark models or Singer Professional Sewing Machine.
I bought this Singer for my granddaughter's 7th birthday in February. Her desire is to learn to sew. I wanted something that she could handle and would be safe for her to learn on. The Singer Tiny Tailor has proven to be just that. A very good starter machine for a 7 year old. It is a slight bit noisy when sewing, but at least I know when she is using it. At the rate she is going, I may need to step up into the next level of a sewing machine for her. I would recommend this machine for a young age beginner.
I love tiny things. So just from a fun point of view, I like having the Tiny Tailor around. However, due to a disability, I am intending also to use it to sew while lying down, setting it on a tray table. I like it better than some of the smaller machines that are being sold now, because it is easy to use, the instructions are simple to follow, and there is more space for fabric on the right side of the needle. I like its shape--a model of a larger size machine. I was expecting that it would have a faster sewing speed, but for me the slower speed is fine, because it allows me more control since I use the foot pedal with one hand and guide the fabric with the other. All in all, taking into consideration its purpose, it is an excellent tiny machine. I love it.
