This DVD is a King of the Deathmatch Tournament from a California based indie promotion and no, it's not XPW or IWA Mid-south, though there are stars from both companies involved. The video quality is mediocre, and the sound quaity is poor for the most part with commentary from Kris Kloss of XPW and WSX fame. The matches featured are typical American Deathmatches and have nothing really special to them with the exception of a few. My personal picks for this tournament are noted with a * by the match, and may have a personal comment by them. Angel & Yoshida vs.The Santino Bros. (Double Dog Collar & Chain Match) *This match is a Non-tournament Tag Team Match and is one of my favorites from the DVD for the simple fact that it features Kaos and Angel from XPW as well as a Japanese newcomer, Yoshida. Carnage vs. Robbie Phoenix (10,000 Thumbtack Deathmatch) *This match is another favorite and was my introduction to both Carnage and Phoenix. The match itself is fairly good as well. R.C.G. Leroy vs. Homeless Jimmy (Shopping Cart of Death Match) This match was Jimmy's return match which makes it special for fans of Jimmy and fans of XPW. This Leroy character however needs to do 2 things. One, is this guy needs to put on some underwear and use a belt and/or suspenders. The next thing he needs to do is learn how to wrestle. Lonestar vs. Buddy George (Beds and Bats of Barbedwire Deathmatch) Buddy is suprisingly good. Even against a jobber like Lonestar. Lonestar tries almost constantly to get cheap heat from the crowd, but gets heat because he sucks, and they know it. Ian Rotten vs. Angel (Four Corners of Pain Deathmatch) Carnage vs. Ian Rotten (100 Light Tube Deathmatch) Lonestar vs. Homeless Jimmy (Shopping Cart of Death Match) Lonestar is horrible and I have NO idea why Jimmy would want to put him over. Lonestar vs. Ian Rotten (No Rope Barbed Wire, Light Tubes, TLC, Anything Goes Deathmatch) I thought Lonestar might actually get hurt so bad he'd have to not only quit the match and leave the tournament, but be permanantly retired. I guess I'm not that lucky. This portion of the DVD is a "shoot" promo by XPW's King of the Deathmatch, Supreme. In this promo Supreme tries really hard to get Lonestar over with the fans. Lonestar was trained by Supreme so I understand why he'd want to get Lonestar over. But it doesn't work. Then Lonestar tries to cut a promo talking about everyone telling him "he's got the talent" and blah blah blah. Toby Klein vs. Homeless Jimmy (Non Tournament) * This is one of my favorites from the disc because Jimmy finally gets a decent opponent. Unfortunately it's non tournament. Carnage vs. R.C.G. Leroy (Non Tournament) I really hoped that Leroy (a really bad Tommy Dreamer knockoff) would have been done since Jimmy beat him in the 2nd match. Jethro vs. Buddy George (Non Tournament) Is Buddy George doing his immitation of Raven or is he just confused about his gimmick? And who's the other guy? Lonestar vs. Supreme (Non Tournament) This match is the result of Supreme's promo that included a challenge to Lonestar. Not even Supreme can get this dork over. What exactly is this guys gimmick? Who or what is he supposed to be? Anyway!! If this review was helpful, insightful or informative, please rate it accordingly to help other eBay members see my review. Check my other reviews.
