This is a great game. I heard most people either love it or hate it. I'm one of those people that love it. The problem i had with this game is the fact that they excluded most of the playable characters from previous games and changed Guan Ping's weapon [previously a big sword but now is a spear or halberd or whatever]. There are few character choices, and made dynasty warriors more of a button smashing game by removing the old square, square, triangle or square, square, square, triangle combos into just nonstop square combo hits and using triangle to break gaurds . However, despite the flaws, i still enjoyed this game. I enjoyed the horse level up system and the new character level up. I also enjoyed the amazing graphics, they were absolutely amazing. There's also a new system called renbu gait, where the more enemies you kill, your renbu gait gauge fills up and makes you stronger. I'm not so fond of this system because even if youre high level, you would be really weak at the beginning of the mission and you'd have to kill quite a few people to get the gauge up. Then to prevent it from decreasing you have to: stay on your horse [with special renbu gait skill you get form leveling it], get a weapon with the renbu gait skill on it, or kill nonstop and excessively. The replay value on this game is very high, but i just wished they kept most of the characters and allowed for most of the characters to have a musou mode, just not accessible only through free mode or 2nd player musou mode gameplay.Read full review
DW 6 continues to be just an overall great game to play! At times it can seem repetitive, but you just choose another character and switch up every so often. I own every single one since DW 3, and it keeps the maps, combat, and graphics to steadily improve over each game. The only issue is I wish the had intertwined all the new features and benefits to throughout each game. It seems they add something and remove something to compensate for it. If they kept some of the original perks I would have given it a 5 star. It's classic though and I highly recommend it!!
Dynasty Warriors 6 is just like the rest of it's franchise. It's the run and mash button game where you take control of a warrior from the classic tale of 'The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and fight epic battles. Except Dynasty Warriors redefines itself as a DW game. DW 2, 3, 4 and 5 all shared similarities and basically were the same games over and over. They had little features from one to the next. Until I played 6 I wasn't ever impressed with the follow up games. Broad new graphics, physics engine of the xbox 360 and amazing amounts of enemy troops. DW6 proves to be a contender for older DW games and truly gives you an amazing feeling when you pick up the game and are a DW vet. I would definitely recommend this game to any DW fans or even new players, but take heed. The Achievements in the game a re a little overboard, some require months of play so this is logically not a good game for Achievement hunters.Read full review
I've been a huge Fan on the Dynasty Warriors series ever since I started playing the game back from the second game in the series. I will have to say, graphically the game has improved well, however, story wise and Gameplay, it's pretty much the same deal it has been for the entire series, with minor tweaks here and there. Some would say this is why the series is either Boring or Stale, but long time fans will say that's the allure of the series. I ran through the game once and was a bit bummed that i didn't get 1000 kills on the first level like I did in previous games, so it is a little harder. Some of the weapons have changed, i don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but it will take some getting used to. The stages seem a bit different, just organized in a way to make it a bit fresh. Overall, you might think you're not getting something new, but it's a different take on a series that definitely has captivated an audience, even if it is an extremely extorted view of Ancient Chinese history. Enjoy!Read full review
I love the franchise & this one is different enough that I'm enjoying it immensely. Definitely not their strongest installment & it's simplicity may irritate more advanced gamers, but if you're looking for a diversion from your usual stable, it's not a bad way to go
