I bought this game afraid it may not run right on my laptop. Initially, I thought I was right. The game ran slow and the picture was jerky. Then I found out from reading the HELP section that I may need to downsize my laptop screen. Once I did that, the game ran smoothly with a hitch or two. Overall, I found the game entertaining and a bit of a challenge. It is so cool to be able to tailor my character with different hair styles, clothes and even (ahem) change my sex preference. The WSOP characters are so lifelike in their appearance I actually recognized a few of them when the tournament started. And their betting tendencies were right on. Once I was able to figure out the keys I needed to work, playing the game was a breeze. I especially liked the CPU skip, where after you folded, you can speed up the hand. A few minor glitches like when you are ready to fold, you press the key and the screen sits there until the scrolling across the screen stops. Also it seems like everybody has the same celebration moves when they win their hands. The guys raise their arms and do a fist pump; the ladies clap their hands with a half-hearted look on their faces. I liked the other options like having music playing or have amibent sounds like chips clicking and people talking, just like a real poker game. And it does have training videos and pointer screens so you can learn more about the game of poker as you play. The best I was able to do in the short time that I had this game was 27th. On other games, I played too loosely and went out early. Someday I will master this game and win a WSOP bracelet. I love the video features that showed the casinos like the RIO, the WSOP tables, etc. And you get special features that unlocks when you play your hands right or run certain WSOP players off the table. Overall I would give this game an EXCELLENT ratiing. This game is worth getting!! Larry J. Kosch, aka The Junk Yard DogRead full review
This is without a doubt the poorest game for a PC that I have ever purchased. It is a straight port from a console. It has very poor graphics with no options to change it. It is not set up to use the mouse. The A.I. is poor. And 90% of the time the game is totally unplayable because the graphics start flashing. This is a game to stay far away from unless you need the cardboard to burn.
Really didn't expect the greatest game in the world, however, it was remarkably better than anticipated. It needs better quick instructions to play the game for those of us who are non-gamers, but it works surprisingly well. I would recommend it to anyone.
wanted to replace a poker game due to a house fire last feb. i dislike this game because you cant see your cards. its also hard to undertsand to directions for playing the different games. would not recommend it. even my daughter and son had hard time with it.
looks like a good game.. ty,, and it was also chaeper than alot of the others so thought i would try it out for the price..
