I was excited about trying out this golf game versus the one that comes with the Wii console but found it a little more confusing than I felt it should be. Maybe I am just dense (many people have told me so but I have never believed them) but to get through the lessons were sometimes troublesome and I could not figure out how to skip them (many swings, many, many, swings). Making up the player seemed easy enough but even that I had trouble with. I still have not had a chance to figure out how I can just play a round of golf by myself so that I can practice my swing but I am sure that once I get into the game it will be an excellent addition to my sport outings (bowling first, golf second). Overall I like the numerous abilities to make the changes that the Wii golf game does not have and I think that is what makes this worth the confusion (at least in my crowded head).Read full review
I'm an avid golfer and can attest this is so much closer to the thrills spills and euphoria you get from the real thing than any platform before it ever allowed. The heartbeat vibration feedback thing when you pure a shot is brilliant. the one dad in the review above was right about the real thing being better; however,it also will NOT mess with your golf swing. (Everyyone knows all his kid has to do is turn his hat around backwards to cure that hitch in his swing!) The variations and levels keep you coming back for more and the whole family enjoys this. It is the first video game that I can truly say that about, at least in my world.
I like the different variables in the game. It is very accurate as far as a real golf game. I do not like the difficulty of getting set up to play or the way the greens appear on screen. The Wii Sports game beats it hands down in this department and it still doesn't have enough options for your clubs. Sega has a game that you pick any club from the bag and is more accurate as far as distance hit per club. I decided to buy this game for the different courses and skill levels it provides. It isn't the best I've played, but it is challenging and it is worth the price of the game.
This golf game is the best video game experience I have had to date! Playing this game on the Wii makes it like playing on a golf simulator. I also have the Tiger Woods golf for the PC and this Wii game is hands down much better. You have to make actual swings like your playing the game. You can change the difficulty in so many ways, you'll be challenged to play all the possible combinations and degrees of difficulty available. If you have a Wii and like golf at all, you must have this game! You can buy aids for the game, like the nerf club, but I don't believe it is necessary to enjoy the game fully. I play it by just holding the controller and swinging as instructed and it plays great! No need to buy anything else for it! You need to make swings like when you play real golf, and if you don't, the results will be much the same as the real game! You can change wind difficulty, hardness and speed of the greens and fairways. You can put spin on the ball.. or not. There are many courses to choose from and you can play by creating your own player or by using a pro also. You can compete against pros and change their skill levels to challenge you in stroke play and other formats. There also are practice games and a very challenging mini golf to try out! This is just a really good golf video game experience! If you haven't bought this game yet.. do it! You'll be very pleased with it for sure. It doesn't take too long to get the hang of the game and you can increase the difficulty many times over to constantly challenge your skills! I whole heartedly recommend this golf game for the Wii! It is still a little expensive in the stores, but I found it on Ebay for a good savings... so shop around!Read full review
This game has given my boyfriend and me some very fun afternoons. The tutorial could be a bit frustrating since it didn't explain what it wanted and just kept saying "Good try, but you can do better", even when we got the ball where it was supposed to be. It all worked out and there are only a few glitches. A couple times, usually on a putt, it would hit the ball when you were on your back swing. This gets pretty frustrating when you are neck-to-neck with the person you are playing with. Overall though, it has been a pretty fun game! :)
- Big learning curve - going about the menus and control's functions; took awhile getting used to the game menu & control (after 5 to 6 time of game play) - Not as accurate as to the actual real-life golf swing; need getting used to the stroke and swing with the Wii-mote - Good graphics display - Once getting used to the game, I really enjoy playing it - Also let you play with the Pros - Bought the game due to good review from previous users - I would recommend buying this game
This golf game is fun to play with many famous courses and different game modes. You can compete against Tiger or set up your own player. When you first start you have to keep practicing until you get to game mode. Keep trying, you will get there after a few attempts....

I got Tiger Wood 08 on wii for my birthday. It is a great game for wii. If you play golf, like golf, or are interested by it you should get it. You get to drive, hit fairway woods, hit irons, and putt like you would at the golf corse. You just hold the wii remote down, hold B and swing. If you think that the game you have on wii is a good enough game for wii, you are wrong. Tiger Woods is a huge upgrade from wii sports. You also get to play as pros in this game, like all the other golf games. Another great thing about the game is that you get to have up to four players, so the whole family can play. Then if you are just playing then you can play the career mode, where you play tournments or beat people in the tiger challange. We have 4 wii remots so it is nice to get a game that can have 4 players, but we also have Madden 07 and Mario Party 8 which can also have 4 playersRead full review
This one is the truest playing games of the series- it can be very challenging even if you get pretty good at it.

I decided to buy this after seeing it at a friends house, and have been hooked ever since. There are plenty of realistic challenges for the best of golfers. Every now and then there seems to be a minor glitch (i.e. freeze frame or something can't be seen), but all in all, I have found this to be a fun game. If you don't like losing, this is not for you. Just when you think your skills are at their best, you have to take it up yet another notch. There are plenty of variations of play to choose from (i.e. skins, one ball, driving, putting, etc.), and also lots of players to compete against on no less than 18 different courses. You can design your own golfer and even dress him/her as you like. As you get better, you can earn money to spend on clothes and all sorts of equipment. The competition is filled with lots of fun and, of course, frustration (at hitting the water and sand traps). The players are realistic and animated (i.e. fist pumps, patting the heart at close ones, turning around in disgust when missing, etc.). The price is terrific for this much enjoyment.Read full review
