I wanted a VoIP phone with good battery life, competent feature set, and solid quality. The WP820 delivers on all of these. I even use it for push notifications; my Asterisk PBX takes XMPP and puts out SIP message events, which the 820 handles perfectly. Two things you should note about the unit. It is surprisingly large; about the size of one of those large remotes for a fancy TV. Not at all a svelte mobile unit. Also, it has buttons all dotted down the front, all of which can be accidentally pushed. You can activate a screen lock, but it's a little clunky. Still, necessary if you'll be carrying the unit around.

I bought this phone to replace a desk model that would only work wired to the LAN. This phone connects via WI-Fi and allows me to roam around the area anywhere I can get my WLAN. Simple setup that is similar to all Grandstream phones. I set it up against 3CX system,even though it is not in the supported devices list. I manually had to provision, but that is not a big deal. Call quality is good the unit works well.
