It works but
The latch arrived well ahead of schedule. For its ourpose, it is of pretty good quality. I bought the gray and it matched perfectly. The spring does not work as well as I’d hoped. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thought I was a goner when my grey “OEM” console latch died and I discovered that Ford would only sell the entire console (as well as salvage yards) ouch. Was going to go with Velcro until I saw this. Purchased the black one ‘cause I thought it would contrast nicely with the grey and would be easy to spot for access...boy was that a great choice! Perfect Fit
$44 for the Lid Latch is very pricy for a piece of Plastic but there really aren't any alternatives available because Ford does not sell just the Latch and no after market latches are available as well from my research. It is a fine secondary replacement. good value
This is not an expensive perfect factory replacement. This is exactly what I expected! It is a 3-d printed or injection molded plastic replica that works just fine. It would be better if it came with a spring, because the one fashioned from a paperclip only works about 100 times before it is no longer "springy." Not to take anything away from the person making or selling this; because the part itself is fine. It is a good value, far better than having to find one in a junk yard. In-fact, if it didn't come with a spring at all, there would be no complaints, and then buyers would be forced to engineer their own, leaving this part maker faultless. all and all... Better than OEM
I had given up on replacing my latch a few years ago. OEM prices were *crazy* and it seemed that replacing the entire assembly was the only fix from Ford. I gave up. I was recently doing some work on the truck and thought that I’d take one last shot at finding a reasonably priced fix. I looked on You Tube and there it was. For less than $10! I ordered immediately and had the part in three days. I installed it in my driveway in 45 seconds (had to get the spring right).
