Performs as expected
I purchased this unit as a temporary fix to avoid the high cost of replacing the Central Air in my home. I'm using it in the Living Room where I have it vented through the fire place (my own modifications with self-supplied materials). Though not whisper quiet, by no means overly loud. It does a great job of keeping the space cool. I haven't had it long enough to see how it'll effect the electric bill, but I'm guessing not much because the "wheel" of the electric meter doesn't seem to change any between running/not running it.

Don't waste your money on one of these portable AC units! it will cost you money in the long run.
Okay I highly recommend that you purchase a regular window unit and not one of these and here are the reasons. This thing works against itself, It's supposed to cool a room but at the same time it creates heat from itself from the ventilation tube which got extremely hot so now the machine senses the heat in the room and has to work harder and longer to cool the room down. Also it creates a negative airflow situation meaning that it sucks air into the room you're in through any air leaks from widows and from the door. I was able to feel the warm air from the other room pushing through the space between the door and the door frame. So I used tape, yes all around the door to seal off the air leak it worked to an extent but who is going to tape their door up everyday just to prevent hot air from getting through? I got the machine set up by 8pm last night and it ran continuously to 5 am the next morning and the coldest I was able to get the room to was 79 degrees, once the door tape seal was broken the temp went up and held at 80 degrees. I had a studio apt before and had installed a 5000 btu window unit and it cooled down the entire apt at the set temp and would cut off when it reached it, this machine won't reach the lower temp you set and just keep on running it struggles and longer running will do two things the unit won't last long and you will have an extremely high electric bill. So I really recommend getting a window unit which you can for the same price as this or an extra few dollars because it won't cool your place down like you would like it to and will cost you extra money in terms of your electric bill, I hope this review can be helpful for anyone looking to buy one of these.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

So far, so good.
This unit replaces a LP0814WNR, which has the same food and general design. So far it functions well, without any of the problematic vibrations I've seen referenced in reviews of other brands. It plugged into the same window kit as the old, and helps keep the upper bedrooms cool in an old house with poor circulation to the upper floor. The original unit (one model older) died after about 5 weeks, but as the old unit had been involved in a recall of which this model was not a part, I am giving the brand another try. Good value
It is not all a that quiet. It does have a nice strong fan and spews out cool air. The hose to vent the hot air is collapsible and is long enough for normal use. I am using it in a much larger room than it is rated for but it still takes the edge off triple digit temperatures. To me this was a good value for the price and my needs. I have it in a small 150 sq ft room and it keeps it nice and cool during these 95+ degree days. It's not as cool as a window unit, but it's good enough. Great features
I bought this to put in my horse trailer living quarters area. It is portable but it is heavier than what I was expecting. On a very hot day like 90 degrees it's best to open up the windows & let the hot air out before trying to cool it down with the A/C. I was worried it wasn't working but it actually was. Was more than enough to keep the bedroom cool
This model is designed for a small room. It will not cool your entire house and is not intended to do so. I bought this model because it was the perfect size to keep our bedroom cool at night so I could sleep easy on hot nights. It works perfectly. Keep in mind that you need an outside window so it can vent through its provided duct work. Also the unit needs to be placed somewhat close to the window for the exhaust tubing to reach. The unit itself is louder than expected but never kept me awake due to sound annoyance. The sound actually became ambient noise that helped me fall asleep. I give it 5 stars because it does everything it says it will do and cooled my room from 90° to 65° in an hour in 80% humidity. My only advice to anyone that buys this unit is to clean the filters regularly. It really makes a difference in how it operates and it's an easy thing to forget.
