I got this cpu for a steal sold as-is untested. 6cores /12 threads of unlocked goodness. I overclocked it to 4400mhz cooled by a noctua Nh-u12s which keeps it idle between 28-35C and under load it stays within 50-60C. Overclock with this cpu and an Asus p9x79 pro motherboard was easy and painless, and according to the cpu-z benchmark and references I'm sitting pretty with the same single threaded performance of a stock 4790k, and the same multithreading performance of a stock 5960k. If you can get an x79 motherboard and one of these cpus for a reasonable price, you'll be pleasantly surprised with unparalleled price : performance.

It fit into a 2013 processor and with a bit of box tweaking...works!

I ordered this because it's the highest level cpu that my basic Ga-x79-ud3 motherboard supports. It went right in my 5 year old rig and I immediately clocked it to 4.2Ghz without any other changes and it's fully stable. Great cpu to extend the life of my rig a few more years.

Awesome CPU, even in 2019, having good enthusiast capabilities. If you know and don't afraid of chinese LGA 2011v1 motherboards you should take it.

Really increased the power of my home server to mega modes.
