Best Stud finder ever!
I'm a finish carpenter and when doing trim. I need to find studs quick and easy. Sure I could use my knuckle, but after 8 hours my hand feels cramped and sore. I've tried other stud finders. They all come with extra features (that don't actually work) and they have sensitivity dials that constantly need to be adjusted. Even then they only detect about 3 out of every 10 studs. Also, with just one light you're left guessing where on the stud you are. This Franklin Sensor is actually like 9 sensors in one. There's no calibrating, no finicky dials, no "ghost studs". Just push the button, slide it across the wall, and watch as three lights light up at once to tell you the exact placement of the stud. It's so quick. I'm able to install baseboard in half the time without unnecessary nail holes. This is a great product for anyone, whether you're a professional that uses it almost everyday or a do-it-yourselfer. You won't be disappointed. Finally, a stud finder that does what it's supposed to do: Find Studs! No extra gadgets just a really good stud finder. Nope! Not dropped or abused. Sits in my pouch and well used for easily 6 of my 8-10 hours. I really like it when’ it’s working. Been through 3 Franklins and 3 Pro 5000s (very similar look, from the green box store), which have died in under a week, each time. They don’t always go deep enough through double fire wall and then give misreading. But as a commercial trim carpenter both companies models worked well for all my wall base before I shoot shoe on, before they act like the batteries are too low, and then just die. And I do a lot of base in a day. If your a home owner and utilize one once a month, it may work out for you. I have now switched to a deeper reader I found on AMZ, and the smaller vertical finder from Franklin. We’ll see? Excellent tool for nailing baseboard.
This device is very fast at locating studs for nailing baseboard in particular. I am very pleased with how it works. It is much easier to use than my stud finder for this purpose. I have heard that it may also locate items behind wwalls that are not studs, like pipes or conduit, not sure about wires, so knowledge of normal stud placement is likely helpful. Works as it should
I initially bought a Franklin like this but blue loved it. I missed placed it and bought a few different ones that didn't work as good as this. Glad I found this again easy to use with one hand and you can see the whole stud with the 3 lines.
