I had been trying to decide what the best approach to explaining puberty to my daughter. Even though I am a nurse I still wrestle with my own thoughts of not being ready to "have the talk" yet. This book actually has been very helpful with the delivery of information in the way that I wanted it presented. The approach builds on God's design on our purpose as women and why our anatomy is the way it is. I wish that I had a book like this when I was growing up. It is full of self confidence and individual identify to body image. So many Girls and Women are bombarded with direct and indirect messages of "not being good enough". The author points out on several occasions that everyone is different in size, shapes, and ages of "blossoming". A very direct and matter of fact look at menes, breast development, boys etc. I heard about "and the bride wore white" from one of my coworkers who said that they used this at a church retreat. She told me about that book and I looked up the author's works intending to purchase the bride wore white book. I ran accross this Body Talk and after reading decided it was a great opportunity to break the ice on a very touch subject. I am so glad I was able to find this one.Read full review
