About this product

Product Information

In November 1971, legendary rock drummer of Cream and Blind Faith, Ginger Baker, decided to set up a recording studio in Lagos, then capital of Nigeria. Tony Palmer's film follows Baker across the Sahara desert, capturing all of his unique experiences up until his arrival in Nigeria, where he sets up his studio. Acting as a facility for both local and western music, the studio continued successfully through the 70's, even attracting singer/songwriter Paul McCartney, and bringing his 'Band On The Run' to life.

A time capsule. Entertaining, but not great audio quality at points. It was made in the early 70s though.
