I read this book when it first came out and have been a fan of Ms. Hart's on all her "Death on Demand Mysteries." Broward Rock is hosting their very first mystery cruise, a one evening event that will take place on a boat, in the waters just off the island. Mystery book shop owner, Annie Darling, has written a mystery play, where the participants try and find out who the murderer is, plus a treasure hunt, including maps to find prizes. With good food and people dressed up as their favorite detectives, everyone is determined to enjoy themselves for this fun event. Halfway through the festivities, a kindly local do-gooder, Pamela Potts, falls overboard. She is quickly rescued but does not regain consciousness. Annie is positive that Pamela was pushed but the acting chief of police does not share her conviction, and writes off Pamela as a jumper. Annie decides that it has to be up to her to discover Pamela's killer and so with friends Emma Clyde and Henny Brawley and Annie's handsome husband, Max, they set out to do just that. This was one of Ms. Hart's better books in this series. It was a light read, fast moving, and amusing. While the motive for the deaths seemed pretty obvious to me, the identity of the murderer took some time to work out. There were enough plot twists to keep me guessing.Read full review
A fun, easy reading, murder mystery book. I recommend it to anyone who wants a chuckle, a grin, and light entertaining reading.
