This series got me into reading W.E.B.Griffin and I couldn't wait for this last book in the series to come out. I have fallen in love with Charley Castillo and loved reading more about him. This series was action packed but also leaned to my feminine side dealing with his family. I loved the way W. E. B. Griffin told about his family and made it so personable. It makes him seem so human. If there was anything I disliked it was that this might be the last time I get to see Charley. I hope not. I hope Griffin will keep him alive and keep the series going a while. I bought it because I have been looking for this ever since I listened to the first three.
You've heard the proverbial "I just couldn't put it down..." This is it. It took me about 1200 miles (interrupted at times) to hear all 15 disks but I was anxious to push the start button any time I was deprived of hearing the next chapter. The reader was easy to understand and the story was easy to follow. There was enough consistency to keep the flow of the story moving along - you had some idea where it was going; with enough detours and changes to keep it exciting. I'd seriously consider 'reading' it again some time on down the road. Great book.
This is an Audio Book that I downloaded onto my iPod. I walk everyday and this is a way to get my mind off the walk and into the story. By doing that I can walk mile after mile and don't want to stop walking in the really good parts of the book. This book is typical Griffin's cutting edge drama, and Dick Hill, just another great job as the voice.
I spend a lot of time driving and love to lose the long hours on the road listening to a good book. "The Shooters" has kept my intereest up all of the way home. I actually look forward to being on the road tomorrow to get back into the story. I'm a Vet with a year of combat and his books are authentic. Thank you W.E.B. Griffin.
This, the fourth book in the series, falls far short of the previous three books. While some lead-in is always necessary, the action doesn't even begin until disk #10 and the final assault is barely described. There are also many story lines that go unanswered. Very disappointing from a writer that I enjoy reading very much.
