The game is an increasingly rare Virtual Boy title from 1996. It was one of the few "Poster Child" games, a flagship title that was seen in practically every ad there ever was for the Virtual Boy. It's about as straight forward as bowling gets, with about as much customization available as bowling in Wii Sports. You enter your players' name, choose a male or female avatar, set the weight of your ball, and choose song A, B, or C (much like Tetris for the Game Boy). once you appear on the lane, you move your character's horizontal position, choose the level of spin on your ball, and the power - then sit back and watch. Animations happen for every ball you toss down the lane, but special animations and sounds play for events such as spares, strikes, doubles, etc... When the game is over, you see your score, and start over. No AI players to play against, just the leaderboard saved in the game. It's very straight forward, but is still a fun way to kill time. Most of it's "collectability" comes from the fact that it is instantly recognized as one of the most iconic Virtual Boy games, but if you're actually looking for a fun BOWLING experience, you should probably pick up Nintendo's more popular Wii!Read full review
A faithful recreation of the sport/game that many people passably enjoy. The Nester animations will remind you of modern bowling alley animations (that they usually display on the TVs above the lanes with the score), and the physics are spot on. That said, it's plain bowling with a thorough practice mode, responsive controls, and even today, serviceable graphics. If you own a Virtual Boy, at least tolerate bowling, and can pick this game up for less than 40 dollars; do it.

Who's funkier than Nester and his sister, Hester? That's right, NOBODY! The game is actually a pretty good bowling simulator, particularly in light of the fact that it is on a questionable platform (Virtual Boy). Good fun all around! Also, a must have for Nintendo collectors.
it is a very addicting game. its hard to stop playing it. it sorta has that "just one more try" aspect to it. much better than wii bowling
Yeah. If you like bowling, there are much better games. Basically, it's bowling, with an awkward aiming system and a kid who reacts to how well you do. He's in pure 2D and the play field has a very weak 3D look. Not worth it. For collectors only.
