I use this nut chopper every time I make my delicious taffy apples. The salted peanuts are cut to a more uniform size unlike some other choppers that wish they could do as well.

This nut chopper will not work for whole almonds! They are too hard and thick. Extremely difficult to turn crank with almonds – I did try and bent the rotating arms inside. Use it for sliced almonds and it will be ok as well as for the softer walnuts, cashews. and others. Will look for a chopper which can handle whole almonds, chopping them with a knife blade end is just too time consuming. Live and learn.

My parents had one of these when I was growing up so was looking forward to using it. However, the very first time I used it I tried grinding raw almonds and the tines bent and the metal plate against which the tines chop also bent. I don't think that the metal used is particularly strong. It was a great idea but I wouldn't purchase this product again.

On only its second use, this chopper came apart. More specifically the twin revolving blades broke off the crank handle. Very poorly made with weak soldering on the crank and blade units. I now have a glass jar with a tall top and lid. Perhaps I'll re-purpose for grated cheese -- if I ever need a container for already grated cheese! Do not buy this product!

So easy to use, and chops nuts quickly. Perfect for cookie recipes that call for chopped nuts, if you want them on the finer side.
