  • Excellent send off to learning and enjoying Chess

Perfect in every way. Written by Master. He explains the theory of chess but first starts with real basics. Plus he has pictures. I am 70 years old and after getting this book I look forward to being able to play with the best of them.

  • It is great to see the actual board, not just the algebraic notation.

The book starts with very simple concepts and then it builds gradually into more advanced ideas and practical information. The chapters on strategy are well organized and quite useful. The section on middle game strategy is well organized, and a good introduction to more advanced books on that difficult subject. So is the Section on the end-game.
