    OEM - WORTH IT

After going through two (2) of the $10.00 variety valves I figured what the heck & ordered an OEM valve. Man, what a difference in packaging, & quality of this product. The minute I turned the valve handle & it "clicked" into the on position I just was about certain that this one was going to work. And, it has. It's been almost two (2) weeks now & there hasn't been one drop of fuel running out of the quad. I also installed a new carb on this quad. Things are now running & operating like they are supposed to.

Polaris ATV Fuel Tank Valves Have a Serious Problem

When I purchased my used 1995 Polaris Magnum ATV, the fuel tank valve leaked, so I replaced it. Four years later, it started leaking again, so I replaced it a second time. Now, after six more years, it started leaking again -- this time dripping an entire tank of gasoline onto my tool shed floor, during Winter lay-up. This means, the valve I'm reviewing is my third replacement and, including the original, will be the fourth fuel tank valve my 23-year-old ATV has required. I suspect the root cause may be the 10% alcohol in the fuel I'm forced to buy. It may also be that the constant pressure from the spring holding the external knob in place is prematurely wearing out the valve's stem seal. At nearly $40 a pop, these tank valves are certainly not a "good value" and, since they have repeatedly leaked substantial puddles of gasoline beneath my ATV, I definitely cannot "recommend it."

  • Shipment to South Africa

Even though it took a bit longer via traditional postage, the part did arrive in South Africa in one piece. This is quite good for South Africa. I did order an identical part from another supplier also in China and paid a small fee to have it couriered in December since I neede one valve qyite urgently and could get the other one later.

  • Oem part is worth the extra cost.

I tried one of the cheaper aftermarket ones without much luck went with oem and it worked without any issues.

  • 1996 magnum 425

Original peacock is pot metal, this is plastic but feels good. The fuel nipple points to the front on the original this however points to the rear. No big deal the fuel line is plenty long to accommodate and as a plus the on off reserve is still correctly indexed after install. Good replacement part.

  • Exact part

The part was oem and fit perfectly. I'm fussy, so I did take some time a 2nd remove some extra plastic left over from the mold process that was obstructing the reserve passage slightly.
