Using with tube preamp (fosi) and after about 40 hours of burn in these sound really good. This is my first tube amp in years and I wanted to upgrade the tubes that came with the unit which sounded fine. I was disappointed until I remembered that tubes need burn in. After about 15 hours I wasn't disappointed because it stopped sounding murky and meh. Now it is pretty crisp and has a nice smooth charm with punchy bass and revealing highs. It is not as detailed as my Pluto solid state preamp but it is a wash because overall it sounds better in my opinion. Overall the fosi cost me $58 and the tubes less than $20 not bad but not amazing as say a 700+ preamp.

Solid little tube, you can see the quality construction. Amazing treble extension, clarity and quietness tube. Bass is very controlled and you can feel it. Violins sound desperately beautiful, these tubes also have exceptionally clean vocal and makes a pleasure to listen modern jazz recordings. These are one of my favorites tubes in the EF95 family, if you are a tube roller, this one is a must, you won't be disappointed.

If you wish to get the most out of your preamp you must put good hot tubes in. These tubes are clean and the filaments actually light up Believe It or Not, filaments play a crucial part in the reaction of the electrons for conducting good audio quality. I highly recommend that if you own a Chinese Tube preamp that you upgrade the tubes to improve the sound quality. You will immediately notice the difference.
