I have always have fond memories of my 6/8 SE Mount. I wanted the same but somewhat smaller for my Mead ETX 90 and my Orion 89 scopes. This mount is perfect in size, weight and function.

Not as good as I expected. Yes you can see Jupiter and Saturn, but they are the size of a pin head when viewed. The alignment is easy enough, but if you want it to track what you are viewing, you have to align it to three different stars. I bought some extra eyepieces hoping I could get a better view, but not much different than the original eyepiece. The moon, however, is very clear and detailed. I also bought separately the adapter for my camera to take photos. The problem with that is you have to refocus the telescope for the camera.

I was using the telescope on a night with a full moon.Highly anticipating the view I was about to see but alas it was not to be because the cap on the end of the scope could not be removed. Someone had glued it in! Possibly a prankster at the factory I suppose! Oh well, I have since fixed the issue and it works "AOK"

I was first in doubt if there was any tripod included with the telescope, and i would have accepted crappy plastic gears for such a relative low price, but both exceeded those expectations. The tripod is very sturdy and heavy, the computer controlled motors work very well, and until so far i was even able to identify Jupiter (by accident though, i first thought it was a star i went looking at lol :) ). Cannot wait to have a look at Saturn when the right moment is there.
