When facing the Frontline: Fields of Thunder, single-players must lead either the German or Russian forces to victory as they complete two campaigns with 20 missions that are intended to re-create the actual events during the battle at Kursk Salient. Gamers must complete a variety of tasks including holding the line, forming a counter-attack, and attempting to conquer the Southern and Northern front. Players will navigate their units through several battlefields in order to obtain fortifications and key objects. Completing an unnamed special task in each mission unlocks an additional secret quest to complete. Online, gamers may challenge each other to ten multiplayer missions available through a LAN or over the Internet.
