I used to love Resident Evil as a franchise when I was younger and recently I started collecting retro and vintage video games and when Goodwill of Middle Tennessee posted it they had it for sale for about $10 I had to jump on it. Sure it's RE1, game play wise...but you aren't getting the true experience. The soundtrack has been replaced with a really bad low quality redo. Something to do with the original guy who did the music actually paid someone else to do it, so Capcom replaced it all. No where near as atmospheric as the real music. I'd steer clear of this version unless it's all you can get.

I remember playing this video game back in the day. I had a lot of fun playing it and I thought it would be great to add to my collection so I can beat the game. I'm a big fan of the the Resident Evil series of video games. I highly recommend it!

You'll have two options to play as either Chris Redfield or Jill valentine. You'll enter a mansion thats nearby after escaping from the dog infested grass area that claimed the lives of some of your teamates. You enter with Barry and Wesker. The team hears a mysterious gunshot in the dining room and YOU and Barry (if you play Jill) go to investigate. When you both return to the main hall, You'll discover that Wesker and/or Jill has disappeared. If you play as Jill she will find a gun on the floor. I believe if you play as Chris he'll investigate by himself and eventually meet Rebecca, who will aid him. eventually along the way, your character will find out that there's a traitor in the team. the deeper you go, you'll find out that this mansion is actually a cover up of a bio-weapon that is being kept in secret deep underground. The dialouge between the characters is PRETTY awkward, i mean its as if they are speaking for five year olds to understand or they try to over exaggerate things that are too obvious. they didnt seem really serious. They can't dodge any attacks, which sucks, so you'll just have to keep your distance or keep firing. after you complete the game, you will obtain some type of weapon. i forgot, its been so long, and you'll get a closet key which will allow you to wear an outfit. there are a number of endings. If youre Resident Evil fan, it wouldnt hurt to buy a copy, its the first series that explains everything from the beginning anyway.Read full review
