For the life of me I can't Fathom why, but Titans have imprisoned the lovely Neptina, daughter of Neptune. The Titans have also shattered Neptune's magical trident and scattered its pieces amongst the clouds and in the ocean. Without his trident, Neptune is just another fish in the sea. Enter Proteus, brave and faithful member of Neptune's court. He's enraptured with the captured mermaid and vows to rescue her from her captives. You, faithful gamer, must take on the role of Proteus and bring peace to the tumultuous seas. Prior to rescuing Neptina, you must gather the pieces of the trident. To find the pieces in the air, you must transform yourself into a bird and fly the not-so-friendly skies. To find the fragments of the destroyed trident in the sea, you must turn into a dolphin and swim amongst your larger and meaner underwater peers. Whether in the air or under the sea, you must find the compass that will help you find the trident screens. This is achieved by touching all the seahorses or clouds on a given screen. Once you have collected the entire trident, you will have gained the magical powers necessary to free Neptina from the bow of a sunken ship. Be careful, though, because a giant octopus will be on guard. Lest you think your quest will be an easy one, let me warn you of the impending dangers you will face. The skies are filled with screaming flocks of black birds and a volcano spews forth its deadly ash. The ocean is rife with tangled webs of seaweed, slimy octopuses and a ferocious shark. Beginning with level two, you can ram the shark or the giant octopus if you can manage to build up enough speed. This will stun the creature for the remainder of the level. After you free Neptina, you begin the next level, which will be similar to the previous level, only harder and more expansive. If you manage to rescue the mermaid seven times, Imagic's address will appear at the bottom of the screen. The game ends only when you run out of energy. Each time you make contact with seaweed or an enemy creature, you lose a portion of your energy.
