It's your first day on the job as a sewer cleaner, and you think you're all ready to head on in and start blasting out the mutated scum that make their home in the sanitation system. But that was before you met your on-the-edge co-pilot, Ghost - an in-your-face fellow who wants a vacation to Solar City and "a million pounds of tubesteak!"

After a fellow pilot fails to report in, it looks like there's something amiss deep in the sewer tunnels - so it's up to you and Ghost to find out what. It's not going to be easy, though, and that's why you've got Catfish, a floating droid who shouts out directions as you fly through the underground rivers of sludge.

Can you make it alive to Solar City in this full-motion video adventure? Or, as Ghost puts it, will they be mopping you up with Handi-Wipes after you hit the wall? Play Sewer Shark and find out!

One of the most memorable pack-ins for a console ever
I bought the Sega CD at launch and had to buy this separately in the longbox. It did so well though that Sega started packing it in to Sega CD's thereafter, (three different NOT FOR RESALE versions exist beyond the retail version). Now, Sewer Shark is not the easiest game to pick up and play. This is one where you will need to read the manual first in order to understand how to maneuver through the tunnels correctly: Game: "The critters are at NINER ---- TWELVE ---- NINER" Player: What!? (game is supposedly on autopilot. The tunnel jump comes up, and you frantically hit up on your control pad. All that happens is you wind up shooting the upper sewer wall. You realize you have to hold a button AND the direction at precisely the right time to navigate. Meanwhile, ratigators are making swiss cheese out of your transport because you have to navigate jumps at the same time as shooting enemies). You repeat the above scenario over and over again, getting a new nickname along the way, (Dogmeat, Ratbreath, they get funnier), inching ever closer to the sun-drenched nirvana of this post-apocalyptic world, Solar City. All you need to do as a rookie sewer jockey is collect 1,000,000 lbs. of "tube steak", (vermin in the sewers). With the help of your pilot and your robot navigator, this game offers players something that had not been done previous to this game ... give a cohesive storyline through film and gameplay in the same medium. Sure, the plot is hokey, but it is funny, (you'll find yourself grinning from the plot twists here and there, and the flak you get from your pilot is hilarious), the gameplay is threadbare, (you'll tear your hair out getting used to accurately pinpointing where the aiming reticle is supposed to land in split-second decisions), but it all comes together in the most charming and wacky way. Some may say this is an evolution of the "Dragon's Lair" control scheme, but this game requires more patience learning it's idiosyncrasies and a ton more concentration. Once you learn it though, you can experience one of the best early experiments in marrying film and gameplay ever concocted. If you're looking for a truly unique gameplay experience and have a flair for the off-beaten path of video games, give this one a try. You'll be glad you did.Read full review

This is not a good game but it is funny as hell!
If you're looking for hrs or even minutes of fun you are playing the wrong if you are looking to crack up laughing while playing a game that had no effort put into the gameplay then you will love this game! This came with my sega cd when i was a child and i didn't realize how silly this game was until recently. I had to ad this to my collection. This game is good for collectors and people who enjoy laughing but don't buy it for fun factor because it's not here.
