About this product

Product Information

Too tired, out of shape, or just plain lazy to go to the local recreation center and play a game of roundball? Don't worry; you can play five-on-five, full-court basketball sitting on your couch with Takin' It to the Hoop for the TurboGrafx 16. Alone or against a friend, you can choose from eight different teams, each of them with 12 men on its roster. Each player has varying strengths and weaknesses. On offense, you can run, jump, dribble, shoot jump shots and free throws, and dunk. Defensively, you can run, steal the ball, and block shots. Just like in the college game, there are three basic types of defensive strategies: zone, man-to-man, and zone plus man-to-man. If a player on your team gets tired, you can substitute someone off the bench. Like many basketball video games, the action changes to a close-up view when an offensive player jumps near the basket.
