This double feature brings together a pair of films starring Edward G. Robinson: 1947's THE RED HOUSE and 1945's SCARLETT STREET. The first tells the story of a group of teenagers who, despite tales of a nearby haunted house and strange goings on, go exploring in the woods. Before long they meet a strange man (Robinson) and as the ominous score suggests, the teens and the viewers are in for a surprise. Fritz Lang's SCARLETT STREET is a noir-ish drama starring Robinson as a cashier who escapes his wife and humdrum life by having an affair with a young woman whose abusive boyfriend manipulates the situation from behind the scenes. Secrecy, lies, and betrayal ensue.
