As an Italian-American actor, Johnny Argano (William DeMeo) is tired of only being considered for the same type of roles. So Johnny takes control of his career and begins to write his own screenplay. He and his friends attempt two difficult tasks: financing the film and convincing their hero, Robert DeNiro, to star. DeMeo wrote SEARCHING FOR BOBBY D with the film's director, actor Paul Borghese, lending a personal element to the film. Sandra Bernhard, Tyson Beckford, Carmen Electra, and Mario Cantone make appearances in this comedy set in New York City.
