Quite a fun game. Definitely worth the price I paid for it. I could seem someways the controls could of been enhanced, but the overall game play was well done. The only reason it missed an excellent rating was due to the somethings sticky AI problems, and the nun-chuck being used frequently. Only in one case though could I truly complain about the use of the nun-chuck and the was for jumping. Over all the game-play as a solider feels like a solid FPS. The Land vehicle controls are solid. The addition of Sea also has the game differ itself from its predecessor. The multi-player for Wii internet will keep the game lasting a long time.
When I set out looking for a Wii game with a battle theme to it, I thought this was the one. It is pretty fun and has a lot of things going for it, but is a little too cartoonish for my taste, as a lot of Wii games seem to be. Back when I owned an XBox or my old Genisis systems, the war games were fairly realistic, as in the tanks, troops and game play. This one has a lot of the same elements, but the child like cartoon troops and movements are the reason I didn't give this game an "excellent" rating. It is good, but not all that realistic in terms of the way it looks on screen. I guess I just got spoiled with the more real life play of the other consoles, but still enjoy playing this one. Great for kids, and maybe even teens, but us adults like something a little more realistic in every way.Read full review
What i loved about the game is the interaction using the wii remotes. Its a good game with cute cartoon like characters. Missions are challenging enough, and he online play is great. Its like command and conquer but without the building. The only thing i did not like is not being able to buildup and tech up. I think doing this would of added element of strategy which i think is missing. Most war games with different types of units have that style and it helps to make the game more enjoyable. I loved the sea battle addition to it. Over all its a great game.
I bought it for my son. I saw him playing it and I really liked the game. Pros: Easy setup and Good graphics Cons: Not a two players game for people sharing a Wii console. Players should be able to exchange their own messages while playing, rather than the predefined messages. When a player decides not to play with another player anymore, he/she is not able to specify any reason for it. There should be a place to specify reason for not playing anymore with another player (e.g. Gotta sleep. Homework, etc). Players should be able to rank one another after a game. E.g. Excellent Player, Good Player, Average Player, etc.
I love war strategy games, so this game satisfies my interests in that respect. I love that you can control different units and that you can switch from controlling one type of unit to another with ease. Once you get used to the controls, the gameplay is great for it really takes advantage of the Wii motion sensing remote. I have yet to try the online mode, so I cannot comment on that. Cons: I wish there were more boards/levels/missions. You can pretty much finish the game in a weekend if you don't care about getting all "A" ratings. There should be a skirmish mode where you can pick which nation you want to control, which nation you want the CPU to control, and then a board to skirmish on. A board editor would be great too!
