The series is like most sci-fi series. It has good looking men and women who are fighting the bad guys and sometimes one another. This one is different, because the main character, Dylan Hunt was frozen in time for several hundred years, so you have a fish out of water situation as well. The last season is not as good as the rest, because the setting is changed from the sentient ship to a planet setting for most of that time. It is well worth the watch, because the aliens are new and exciting and the main characters interesting. You want to care about them, even when they aren't being very nice.
The best Scifi Show ever Made! The slipstream collection has it all: Interviews, outakes, documentaries and of course all the episodes. The collection itself has become collectable and hard to find. Be prepared to spend a lot of money on a decent quality slipstream. Although there are newer realeses of this show on DVD, these slipstreams still have the best picture and sound quality and you don't find these special features on any other release. There is 1 probelms with the set. The outer box is not as strong as it should be, so you often find sets for sale that are cracked and worn easliy. Look for new or like new sets but be prepared to spend up to $300. Dont bother buying sets that are very good or good. They are always worn and look terrible! If your an Andromeda fan and like to collect, wait for a new set to come up for sale. If you want to check out the show for the first time and watch it, buy the australian release. The best way to enjoy this series. All five years in one compact (at least compared to the individual year sets) set. This was a great series and I am enjoying visiting this universe again. If you like good science fiction you will probably like this series because it has all the basic elements of a good story - good vs evil mixed with enjoyable characters and good special effects. A good way to spend the evening. This set is especially nice for the price as it is much cheaper than buying each individual year and it takes up a lot less space on the shelf than all of the individual years. Bottom line - this is an enjoyable series and you can't beat the price for this complete set of all five year.
