Referred to this game by a few friends, I decided to cave and bought it. I'm a huge fan of city building games as well as the The Sims/Sims 2 line. This game encompasses all of the aspets I love from both! Plus it has so much more! You get to run your own shops, start a family, make babies, run for office positions, sabotage other dynasties...there's so much to list! I love the fact that you create a dynasty, build up its worth with the decisions you make and become the envy of the town. There's many routes to take in this game with the various professions that are offered and if you like micro-managing, this is the game for you! I didn't give it a full fledged 5 stars since there are quite a few bugs in the game that weren't fixed with the patches. Other than that, I highly recommend this game and plan on purchasing the add-on soon!Read full review
I really like this game because it is a mix of elements that I've been looking for in a game. It's like an rpg, but it's open ended and you control three characters in your dynasty at a time. That's something else I like, I've never found a game-other than the sims-where you can marry and have babies, then continue playing with the kids whe the parents get old and die. I also love the merchantile system, it's something completely new. You can either be a warrior or a merchant or a politician. It's a lot of fun and I bought it because it's a game that combines element of game play that I've never seen brought together before. However, it does get extremely repetitive after a while. There's only so many times I can go through the process of building a business empire before it get's old. It wouldn't have gotten boring so fast if there were different things you had to do to get ahead in differnt career paths, but you have to do the same things no matter the career. Well, you do different things being a thief, but that's the only career that branches away into something different. Overall it's a good game, but if you want something different at every turn, this is not the game for you.Read full review
I would initially give this game a 4, but then adjust it to a 3.5 later on. The AI isn't all that bright or intuitive, but there are a lot of very fun aspects of this game. The fact that there are multiple ways to win and take over a Medieval town and that you can really effectively change strategies in the middle of your campaign is really nice. There are a lot of benefits of the RTS genre in it and the character control is pretty decent. There are a few bugs in the game that were never worked out, but if you enjoy RTS, Strategy, Political or Simulation (City Building or People) games, then this is definitely worth the 20 bucks.
This is a very good strategy game because it allows you, the player, to control your family, help them achieve success, higher class and acquire stores. In a way you can start a medieval store chain.
The Guild 2 is a multi-role RPG and a sim at the same time. Take your primary character and his/her profession, start a business, get married, and build a dynasty... whilst tearing down and guarding gainst rival dynasties. One of my favorite games of all time!
this game is freakin awesome for anyone is LOVES sims. It is just like sims 2 buissness if not more challenging. Very fun to play
