Quarry - Season 1 (2016) BLU-RAY. Upon their arrival, Mac and his best friend and fellow Marine Arthur (Jamie Hector) are confronted by angry anti-war protestors, shunned by their families and struggle to reintegrate themselves back into society.
Besides Fargo, Quarry has to be one of the most engaging series i have seen in quite a while.
I watched it on HBO when released and re-watched again recently on disc and my opinion on this still stands to this day.
The plot takes place in Memphis, 1972 and starts off with Mac(Quarry) and his friend coming home from Vietnam to a very hostile crowd, waiting at the airport.
Many veterans, back then and like present day struggled to find steady employment which results in Mac getting a rather unpleasant visit from a man who wants to offer him a job as a hitman.
Mac initially say no thanks to the job but a string of incidents leaves him no choice but to finish the wetwork he was offered but turned down.
There are some true characters in this series, like Buddy for example. He adds a layer of morbid humor and tons of violence to plot.
I'm really glad i found this on disc for such an affordable price.
I do have one gripe with the disc set and that is the lack of subtitles, but as long as they speak english that's really not a dealbreaker.
Recommended purchase for chrime/thriller enthusiasts.
