I heard the opening cut "Ain't Nothing Wrong with it" on a local radio station. I could not sit still in the car, looked like I was having some sort of fit, I am sure. It's a favorite song of the DJ's. I called him right after the song was over to find out who it was. Of all things, they opened for Eric Clapton a few years back, but I was LATE for that show and missed the RR set! (it won't happen again) I looked up the CD online on the RR website. Of course, Ebay is the home of great deals, so I came over here to purchase. The whole CD is great, but I hardly play it past the first song, it's just so great.
This album shows the varied tastes this band possesses..all done very well. It doesn't project the energy this band emits live,as the "Live..at the Wetlands" does, but it will give you an idea of what to expect if and when you take the opportunity to see them live. It's truly a "family" band consisting of great players that all share the spotlight. I got a greater appreciation of the album after seeing the live because you will see who's doin' what with the songs.
Robert Randolph's previous CD was more of a gospel rock style (which is great). This CD is more blues rock. Robert Randolph's steel guitar still comes through and I feel it is their signiture sound. Their style has changed, but the CD is a great cd. I think it is a must have for anybody who likes good quality old school.
Great CD highly recommended, Enjoyed the detail of the Music, I will listen to it mover and over again. I was inspired by the music, would highly recommended the CD. The wording is great and story line is super. Listen to it over and over again.
