A 5.1-channel surround sound system provides superior sound output from this Toshiba DVD player when connected to an appropriate source. Compatible surround sound modes include Dolby Digital surround and DTS surround. An integrated photo viewer gives this 5.1-channel DVD player the ability to view photos from disc-based media. Photo manipulation features include zoom, slideshows, and customized slideshows. An internal 24-bit, 192 kHz converter in the Toshiba SD-3800 works to improve video and audio quality from sources for an enhanced entertainment experience. The sound system includes an Enhanced Audio Mode (EAM) that allows users to select normal, 3D Virtual Surround, or dialogue expander for custom sound quality. A Parental Control integrated into this Toshiba DVD player allows a maximum viewing rating to be set. The rating is locked with a password, and content above this rating cannot be accessed without it, preveting children from viewing inappropriate content. Multiple input options built in to the rear of this 5.1-channel DVD player include an optical port and a coaxial digital port.
