Gorgeous piece of art.
Used for 2 weeks. Very pleasant despite the otherwise volatile pump. Excellent Machine. Illy solved all the problems with the 2nd Gen X1. The front tray is a bit too lose though, mainly because of no inserts on the body portion. Also, buy a spare back tray that costs $90. Everything is blatantly Overpriced for this little machine but on the bright side, it's mostly made in Italy. My opinion is, if you are paying the full $650 price, you are nuts and you might just well just splash it on Starbucks or buy a ticket to Trieste, Italy because X1's coffee is not even close to Barista standards but great for homebrews. On the other hand, I expect this machine to undergo a full service in 2 years just because it's Italian...and you all know how reliable their machines are.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Much better than the old version..but incompatible with it
Beats our old x1 in design, they fixed the oddities - power cord, water inhaler, now relatively programmable. Bad news is all the espresso pods you had and the handles for single/double etc don't work with this. New version is a proprietary capsule system, which while producing great espresso is a PITA, since only illy provides, so that limits your choice of coffee, and locks you in at illy prices for coffee.
