This is an A6 direct thermal printer. If you put thermal paper or labels in it, it will print without any ink by heating the paper. It is an old device. It uses a serial port (that is a DE9 connector, which most computers don't have any more), and you have to be prepared to do some pretty manual work to set it up to print. If you know how to use a good-quality (eg FTDI) USB to serial convertor, and know how to set serial port parameters, and are a bit of a Linux or command line enthusiast, you can get it to work quite well. Do not expert it to be plug and play. The print quality is decent. You can run it off batteries.
