E-Z Play Today series for beginners. Simple melodies.
As a fairly new alto saxophone player I love the E-Z Play Today series. I am retired and playing the sax is just one of those bucket list items. Had to try. But reading sheet music has been a total failure for me. The E-Z Play Today series has large easy to read notes with the note name on the note. So I don't have to go Every Good Boy Does Fine, etc every time to try and figure out what the note is. Just not enough time to think and play too. This series solves that problem. I would guess about 90% of these songs are playable on the saxophone. Not intended for sax so there are some notes below what can be played on that instrument. I skip over those and have found enough that I can play the melody and enjoy the song. These are simple versions of all these songs. Advanced players I am sure will not find any interest here. But for beginners I find them great. I am just about to enter my 5th month of playing the alto saxophone and this series to me has been a life saver. I will note that there are a lot of songs in here that I have never heard of. Of the 150 songs here, I found 10 that I am playing almost every day. At the price of sheet music I guess 10 is enough for me to make it worth it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
