EQ2 is a nice upgrade from the original Everquest MMORPG. Sony has taken the best from Everquest and paired it with a higher end graphics engine and more versatility and turned it into a player's game...no matter what kind of player you are. Solo players have a wide range of quests and tradeskill options to pursue that will keep them busy for ages. Raiders and high end loot players have plenty of options for both mini-raid targets and major war targets. The socialites have endless options for chatting it up with anyone and everyone in game...and if you can't get enough chatting in EQ2 then you can create cross-game channels and chat with players in any Sony game! Echoes of Faydwer reopens many zones from the original Everquest game. The tree city of Kelethin, the dwarven mountain ranges and more. The new Fae race have many advantages and can be a ton of fun to play. You might find yourself wondering why you see so many Fae characters running and flying...trust me, create a Fae and you'll soon see why Jump/Glide is so popular! It's just pure fun to run and leap from rocks/mushrooms/ledges and more. (One word to the wise, however, never /autofollow a Fae unless you have levitation and enduring breath) The graphics are amazing! Clear crisp colors and highly detailed landscapes make the playing experience even better. There are many places in game where you can find a stunning view to enjoy. The downside to the high end graphics is that to enjoy them fully you need to have a computer that can handle the load. Most standard word processing computers don't have the 'oomph' to run this beast and will lock up with memory issues. The game requires only 512MB RAM to run, but you will find yourself turning off most all graphics enhancements and still suffering severe lag at best, or at worst being booted with a "not enough memory" error. To run EQ2 with the speed and detail you expect to see, you absolutely need a minimum 1G RAM with a 2.4G processor...at the very least! It's a heavy load, but totally worth it if you're into realistic online game play. All in all, Everquest 2 is awesome. So much to do, so much to see, and plenty of other players to do it all with! It takes a little while to become accustomed to the many different functions and rules of the game. Research is an essential part of successful game play, but in-game web browsing makes it much easier to accomplish. There are literally hundreds (thousands?) of websites to help you figure out the commands/options and other info you want to know. I definitely recommend Everquest 2 for any gamer interested in a fantasy world of their own...great for serious or casual players.Read full review
This expansion added so much to the game. A new fae playable character race (so adoreable), new zones for BOTH high level, mid and low level players (something that seems to be getting more rare), some great zones for players who don't "raid" all the time but would like to see some more content. Great quests, new armor and virtually no bugs at launch. That's pretty amazing in and of itself. Big thumbs up on this expansion.
IT has it all Great long term game From the the very beginning it grabs you and not let go. This game is a must for RPG MMOG players
