This book was posted as being new, so I confidently ordered it, certain of a positive experience. While it is tight, clean and unmarked there is an unacceptable degree of yellowing. The inside covers have the most discoloring, but the rest of the pages are distinctly ivory. If this is really a new copy, it has been stored badly. I have other books in this format by the same author that I've had for some years, and they are all nicely white. Sadly I plan to return it and continue my search for a nicer copy.

This book is packed with interesting facts and witty humor. We're all interested in what may or may not happen to us when we die. Mary Roach makes her readers feel active in her search for discovery. She's an outstanding vector for the reader to find appreciation in the many beliefs of different people, cultures, and religions. I recommend this book, but not before you've read STIFF: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers. STIFF was Roach's first book, which led her to further investigate the idea of the human afterlife. I recommend both of these, as they are seeping with knowledge and are truly hilarious. -Elizabeth Hardey Baton Rouge, LA
