Product Information
Built on a new engine, Tony Hawk's Project 8 is designed to be the most complete and well-rounded game in the series to date. Tony and his crew are looking for eight promising skaters, so single-players in "Career" mode must show the pros they can grind, heel flip, and spin better than the competition. Gamers may select their avatar from one of five characters each with their own abilities and a specific trick, and then begin to complete the objectives found in each environment.
Missions range from grind challenges to bail contests, and each activity has several variations. Players may also hook-up with photographers for picture challenges that require skaters to perform tricks and follow instructions while keeping up with the cameraperson. "Puzzle" goals make players adjust the rails, vehicles, and other objects within the closed course to create a skate-able path to travel without touching the ground. A text messenger will also beep in from time to time to alert gamers to newly opened goals or contests.
An in-game feature called "Nail That Trick" allows a player to slow the action down as the character enters the air, so that gamers may create new skills or perfect old ones by using the avatar's feet to flip the board in any direction. "Nail That Trick" can be accessed at any time, and can be used to transition into the next combo. Of course, there is a "Free Skate" area where skaters can spend time practicing tricks and earning upgrades. Skill enhancing bonuses are given while players are in "Free Skate," and can increase such attributes as spins, vert tricks, grinds, and airtime. All progress can be viewed in the move chart. Players who want live competition can access the Internet and engage in two-player challenges, a new game called "Walls," and more.

This game is actually one of the better ones of the Tony Hawk series. It introduces many new aspects not available in old gaming. There is a slow motion control and of course better graphics. Although it is a new game, it doesn't take away from the old Tony Hawk controls. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who has been keepin g up with the Tony Hawk series and someone who is trying a skater game for the first time.
Great game, plenty of fun of any player of whatever age. Controlling character takes getting used to but once in there, very addictive. Great graphics as well and the slow motion feature is really cool when doing some outlandish trick. Over all was worth every penny i paid, lol!!
In my opinion, of course each person can have a different taste, this is one of the greatest games I've ever played. I've always liked Tony Hawks games and I wanted to verify how good this one is. So, after checking it out, I believe everything in general is good but I think some graphic parts could be better. In short, I recommend people to have or to play and have fun with this game.
If you liked TonyHawk on PS2 then you'll definitely love it on PS3. Especially for the nail the trick mode which allows you to control both skater's feet as you wish, so you can create your own tricks.
That game is full of hidden spots I think I'll play it for a long time and I bought a new one for less than $15 !
How could anyone say this game sucks at all!!!!!!??????
This game is the best ever. This the first Tony Hawk game I`ve ever gotten and i`d normally say Tony Hawk games suck but this beats everything that i`ve played. sure the missions get hard sometimes but I suck at tricks but still love it. The hi-def graphics are flawless and the nail-the-trick feature really helps get your ranks up. Not to mention how funny it is to have a bonus mission where you have to break your bones.
I like the game. When I bid on it, it did not have a rating and I thought that it would be ok for younger children. When I recieved it, it now has a teen rating. I is a good game but I will have to wait a couple of years before my kids can play it.
Project 8 is a return to form of the classic Tony Hawk franchise. I've been a fan since Pro Skater 1, but felt the series lost its way after Pro Skater 2. This is pure skateboarding fun with upgraded graphics for next generation consoles. Though it doesn't look as good as Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, the controls and mechanics are solid. Highly recommended.
