A good reference book for Python 2.5 and earlier
This is a good book for getting into Python a bit deeper. It isn't a total beginners book but it includes a basic introduction to Python and is a pretty complete reference. Unfortunately Python continues to get improved and this book only covers up to version 2.5. However since the text is older, it is also available used cheaper too.
