A movie crew has come to town to film some footage for a movie entitled, "Crisis in Cherrywood." Hannah Swenson, owner of the Cookie Jar, spots an old college chum, Ross Barton who is working on the film as producer, and this doesn't make the town's dentist, Norman Rhodes or Detective, Mike Kingston very happy since they are both in love with Hannah and very marriage minded! Hannah ends up stirring up a lot of gossip along with her treats for the cast and crew. The director, Dean Lawrence is very demanding and insist on having a slice of Hannah's Cherry Cheesecake everyday. That's not the problem. Dean is not well liked and during a scene where he is demonstrating a suicide with a prop gun, it turns out too real and deadly! There are plenty of suspects as it turns out. Hannah is on the case in no time flat, sifting through clues, while dealing with Norman and Mike's jealousy over Ross. This is not my favorite book of Ms. Flukes. I found it to run dry in spots and just not as exciting as some of her others featuring Hannah and friends. I have read them all from the very beginning, so you know I will continue because if nothing else, I want to see who Hannah ends up marrying! The recipes are a big incentive. I have tried quite a few and no disappointments there!Read full review
