A notable upgrade over N3 noiseless pickups
I was a bit underwhelmed with the N3 noiseless set that came fitted to a 2013 Deluxe Strat I bought used. I noted the Gen4s had a higher output, but some forum comments suggested they weren't a worthwhile upgrade. They were wrong! More noticeable than the higher output is the improved tone the Gen4's provide. Far more 'stratty' than N3s, more touch sensitive, alive, present, and less compressed (most noticeable with the neck pick-up). Positions 2 and 4 give an authentic chimey sound. And, as a bonus,with the S1 switch activated there is less of an increase in volume than there was with the N3s. I now have 10 very usable tones! Best noiseless by far
First the vintage noiseless - very bright and squeaky clean with their 1 meg ohm pots. Then the hot noiseless as on Beck's long awaited signature strat - sharper and, well, hotter. Then the very nice Samariam Cobalts - still clean but darker and a tough act to follow. But these 4th generation noiseless do it! They have that sweet sound especially in the 2 and 4 positions, bell-like as they say especially with a bit of chorus mixed in. The bridge by itself is beefy enough to drive any amp - awesome as I said, by itself, my favorite . The middle is strong and flavorful. The neck is perfect bluesy and ballsy. With the set hooked into the S-1 switch the lush tones just multiply. Very nice! Very cool! Definitely worth the price.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Fender nailed it - the real thing this time
There is not much to say. I play professionally Electric guitars since 1963. Started with the first replacement pickups DiMarzio and Mighty Mite early 70ies. Tried all Fender Noisless Pickups with not too much entusiasmus. I feel Fender really hit the mark with the 4th Generation. Congrats! Good...after a replacement middle.
These pickups deliver the vintage time promised without sacrificing the high end sparkle...too much. No hum...sounds great. Only issue I had was a bad middle pickup. The Low E pole piece was extremely week. Replaced the pickup and all is well. They sound great!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
