good quality machine
We are happy with this purchase. Magnavox also has a very good customer service system. I used it when I had some trouble getting the machine to accept blank DVD disks. They steered me in the right direction - needed "-R" instead of "+R" disks. This is the reason I am not giving this recorder/VCR a 5 star rating - I feel it is a small but irritating short coming. Easy to use
I had been putting off dubbing some family movies from VHS to DVD for years. If I had known it would be this easy, I definitely would have done it sooner. The DVDs are better than the original tapes! The only complaints I have is 1) the screen interface is rudimentary and 2) the titling of the DVDs is difficult - it uses the letter configuration of a telephone, with 3 letters per number. It has taken me a while to write a review because I had to try all the features of this product. Expect that with any DVD player or recorder. My error was what blank DVDs I bought.
