I have both volume I and volume II and they are really great. They sound good and include both the stereo and mono versions. Back when these records were released, record players came with either mono or stereo needles so records had to be purchased to match your record player then. The Beatles were among one of the first to really use stereo well and there was some differences in the recording. These Capital record sets provide both. Also, the CD's themself resemble the old Capital rainbow record label. With so much Beatles junk out and everybody trying to make a buck with Beatles stuff its sometimes hard to find just the basic Beatle albums and music as it was back then. You can play the Help CD from this set and its the same thing, same music, and in the same order as the good old LP except the sound quality is probably a little better. If you like to still listen to vintage Beatles, this CD set meets the ticket at a reasonable price usually between 50 and 60 US dollars. If you just like the Beatles top singles, then you could save money with the blue and red greatest hits CD's, but I like a lot of Harrisons music (sorry Paul) so I prefere the actual albums and this CD set delivers that.Read full review
This Long box collection vol 2 has four early Beatles albums on CD as released in the US with an interesting 28 page booklet telling the story of the Beatles early album releases in the US, and why they differ in several ways from the early albums released in the UK, which is of interest from a British aspect. The albums are of course EMI original recordings presented in stereo and mono. I suspect some of the mono recordings were 'doctored' by Capitol records from the stereo tapes as the timings are virtually identical for both versions, whereas the mono and stereo takes were separately recorded and hence had differing timings. This does not take away the pleasure of listening to the tracks. Only the fanatical purists might have a different view!! Not cheap or easy to source in the UK, but worth the money if you are really interested in Beatles material from early on in their career.Read full review

This is a great set, and an absolute MUST HAVE for any Beatles fan - it would make a great gift! This set follows the Fall 2004 release of "The Capitol Years Vol. 1" and marks the first time in history that the Beatles' US record releases have been officially issued on CD! This is important if you enjoyed the instrumental tracks on the US "Help" album (I didn't, but hey... now I have them!) Those of you who grew up on the Beatles, or those fans who have kept the Beatles alive through the lost medium of record albums will be delighted with the mini-album covers inside the set, and the "Rainbow Label" CD art on the inside. As for the music - well, it speaks for itself! Each CD comes with 24 tracks in the original order of the US releases, featuring both mono and stereo versions of each and every song. If you already have all of the CD's (as I do), it is well worth buying this remastered set, as many of the tracks have some notable clarity improvement. Collectors might be interested to know that this set is issued in two different editions - one being a smaller CD box set, and the other featured in a long box with a special sticker on the front of the album. The long box editions are available only in limited quantities via wholesale clubs across the US.Read full review
Being an avid Beatles' fan since their arrival in the USA in 1964 and performing on The Ed Sullivan Show that same year, this was a well awaited compilation for me, purchasing re-mastered copies of their entire album collection, this compilation being a much anticipated set after purchasing Volume 1 last year. Having both the mono and stereo versions of their songs in one set is a real treat, having only mono versions with my first (LP)collection, moving up to stereo, and now, having them ALL REMASTERED! How awesome is that?! This collection is a must for you die-hard Beatles fans!
This second edition of The Beatles's Capitol catalog is very important to anyone that is a Beatles fan , yes , we've seen those songs before on other compilations and in the Parlophone releases (mono)but aside that they are presented here in stereo ,the Capitol catalog was remixed differently from the beginning,so in order to have all different versions of the songs, you need to have the mono versions(Parlophone & Capitol) and the stereo versions (Parlophone & Capitol)and this apply to all records up to Sgt. Peppers... and on The White Album (the mono and stereo versions)and Magical Mystery Tour also. I hope that they also release the singles and other less popular records as "The Beatles Story" that it is part of the collection. So don't wait and treat yourself to a trip to memory lane.
What can one say about The Beatles? This is a wonderful collection of early albums featuring both stereo and mono mixes of the albums. It is nice to be able to listen to all of these cd's in stereo and it sounds great. The only complaint I have about this collection is that the packaging is terrible and easily damaged. While I like how each cd comes in its "original" vinyl sleeve the box itself is cheaply put together. I still recommend it just so you can have a nice complete Beatles collection. Just be careful with it.
Volume 2 came to my door is excellent condition......CD's are perfect. As fat as the music is concerned The Beatles!! Can't go wrong. Thanks for Vol 2!! Be Well, Charlie

This is the first issue of this set, with the false start on "I'm Looking Through You" and the wrong mixes of stereo and mono on some of the songs. There have been new releases of this set from Capitol with the correct versions of the songs mix's in stereo and mono. I am happy with the first issue that I purchased. If you love The Beatles, this is a good collection to have. You can't go wrong buying anything that was recorded by one of the greatest pop/rock bands ever, The Beatles.
