In short you could explain 2Pacalypse Now, as Illimatic, but without the production quality of Illimatic. This was 2Pac´s breakthrough to the masses, as it was certified gold 4.19.1995. ´Pac touches many subjects, with this album like; teenage pregnancy, racism, poverty, black on black crime, police brutality, and it is also very political album. After it´s release controversy rose, when Ronald Ray Howard killed Texas state trooper, and said he was influenced by 2Pacalypse Now´s subjects of police brutality. Due to this the Vice President Dan Quayle criticized publicly that 2Pacalypse Now has "No place in our society". Because this 2Pac got even more famous, which would lead to anticipation of he´s second album, which was also a success. Although the production isn´t as good quality as it would be in he´s later projects, the album as a whole still holds up, and many of the problems rapped about are still major problems in our society. This album shows the life & the obstacles of young black male in early 90´s America.
