If you have a long ride ahead, and you know the conditions will be rough, a Motoz Tractionator motorcycle tire is the right choice. The Tractionator Desert is designed to handle harder terrain, especially hard trails, desert sand with hard pack variations and fast rocky conditions. Its unique patented tread design handles off camber sections to help climb out of ruts and hard braking at extreme lean angles.
I watched many videos and read many reviews on these tires. They sounded amazing. Long lasting and grip. 45 miles in and the knobs are rounded off. They don’t have the bite of Pirelli m21. They wander on the pavement bad. Sand is terrifying. I dropped the air pressure in half and it helped but they wandered more.
Bike is a 2017 ktm 690r. Location is northern Michigan. Terrain is heavy gravel, rocky trails, pavement, and connecting two tracks. These tires are disappointing. To be fair I only have two hundred miles on them.
Today I let a buddy jump on my bike in a hay field and he laid it down in 100 yards. Was amazed how an aggressive tire wouldn’t connect. Would love to update after a few hundred more miles but I’d rather get a set of pirellis and really enjoy the bike and trails with confidence.
Mounted it on a XR650r converted to ADV.
used it on a 400 mile off road trip. We had everything from loose basalt climbs to long deeep mid stretches. It handled it all. I ran D606 for years and found this tire superior.
It was easy to spoon on my wheel also.
I put the motoz desert ht on a husky 701. It is a major improvement from the Tkc 80 In all conditions so far. I would highly recommend this tire if you ride 80% off road.
