Product Information
Monte Cristo Multimedia is at it again, this time bringing their successful stock exchange/investing simulation, Wall Street Trader 99, to the United States as Wall Street Trader 2000. Developed and published in the U.K. by Monte Cristo, Interplay is the publisher/distributor in the U.S.

As entire nations stand on the brink of ruin, eminent financial wizard Lord Fleming asks you to save his company, the Learing Bank. You must eliminate irresponsible speculators, make as much money as possible and one day take over the Fleming empire! You can buy bonds, futures, oil, gold and build a portfolio to rival even that of Long Term Capital Management, the hedge fund.

The game puts you in the middle of the chaos of the investment market for a two-year period from the start of 1999 through the beginning of 2001. You start with two stocks and accumulate more as the game moves along. To succeed, you must become financially astute, analyze company information using your very own analyst, insider and spy. Make sure you get the inside track on your enemies and all the important economic news. You will scrutinize and invest in companies such as BMW, Boeing, IBM or Netscape, as well as buy and sell commodities.

While the main goal of the game is to make money, Lord Fleming will give you four missions that must be achieved. Your first mission is to make more cash than you started with in a two-month period. In your second mission you become the Joint Chairman (along with three others) of the Learing Bank and you must be the best at the job to best them. The third mission offers you three all new opponents whom you must defeat in your quest for greed -- Lord Fleming is testing you and your enemies to see who he should put in place as sole Chairman of the bank. The forth and final mission is the toughest as you must save Europe by protecting its unique currency.

In order to complete your missions and to become a savvy investor, you have access to many tools and various agents that will help you navigate your way to victory. Tools include news items, articles, television and radio reports. You must analyze this information in order to predict the stock market's evolution and you'll have five agents to assist you. An analyst (to help understand the news), an insider (to help uncover hard-to-find facts), a spy (to see what your enemies are up to), a lawyer (to defend you if you need it) and a public relations agent (to call a press conference). The services these agents offer are not cheap!

You will manage your own financial portfolio, buy and sell 70 internationally recognized stocks, analyze 16 economic sectors (high-tech, automobile, tourism, minerals, banking, etc.), search for news concerning a specific company or send mail to your enemies proposing deals. Also, you'll view your score in relation to your enemies, read your enemies' biographies, measure your Guru credibility, take out and pay back loans and more. There are over 35 minutes of video clips and a good number of 3D animation to spice things up.

After you best the ruthless enemies played by the computer, jump on the Internet and play against up to four other players in a real-time financial slugfest.Product Identifiers
