Sims are a great way to chase the blues away; and I like the new improved Sims 2...they seem more dimensional and real and they talk instead of just make funny sounds. I also have Sims 2 Pets & we're in business now; I love them all. I have had a lot of fun creating my sims, their environment, decorating their house for the holidays, giving little Jimmy a cap gun for Christmas even though his mother is totally against guns...kissing my hunky brother in law underneath the mistle toe...and I like that I can have a whole house full of cats and a yard full of dogs! Sims 2 holiday fun stuff is a great addition to the Sims 2.
First off, this is a Stuff pack, not to be confused with an expansion pack. Stuff packs are basically furniture/walls&floors/decoration and outfits/hairstyles for your sims. There aren’t any big changes to the gameplay. The pack offers three basic themes: sophisticated nautical(and some random decorative masks...), kids aquatic, and kids medieval. Also included are matching Hawaiian outfits for kids and their parents. Some of it is adorable (like the princess outfits/hairstyles for little girls), some of it (like the odd animal hats) I personally, never use. If you can get a good deal (less than $20) I would recommend it. It is after all, quality stuff for your sims. =)
Note: This is a "Stuff Pack" which means that it adds new objects to the game, but does not come with new functionality, as would be expected from an "Expansion Pack". This pack adds objects geared toward kids. There are new costumes for your young sims to wear, as well as many objects, all broken down into themed collections. You will also get two collections of object - "Fantasy" which is old castle looking objects, and "Underwater" which is designed to look like furniture from the lost city of Atlantis, as well as some generic clothes and objects. Overall, I was disappointed by the amount of stuff this pack adds to the game. For the price of it, I was expecting upwards of 100 objects, but it is far less than that. If you need a few new objects for your Sim children (or immature adults), this might be a good pack to pick up, otherwise, it isn't worth the price.Read full review
This is a stuff pack, you must own the original full Sims 2 game to play. As far as stuff packs go, this one has received the most complaints. The objects are seasonal holiday decorations and knick knacks. As a stuff pack, this item contains objects and clothes but does not add much to the game as far as playing options. Most of the best objects have already been released for free on the official Sims 2 web page, giving this stuff pack has the least value for those who purchase it. Many, many simmers have complained that the pack was not worth the full purchase price. I would recommend this item if you can get it at discounted ebay prices, but not at the full store price. Be sure to check the Sims 2 Official web page for the free downloads first, and you can get the best items without paying a penny.Read full review
I enjoy the holiday decorations, the Santa who will use your sims' toilet over and over between ho-ho-hoing,just wish there were other holiday quirks for Halloween ,Easter,New years, etc.I also wish that some Pagan Sabats were included(they include Jewish holidays, why not open it up more to include Wiccan holidays?).I mean maypoles for Beltane would be fun for sims,as would having the Halloween suppers with a place for those who have passed set at the family table(the ghosts could even visit for supper, those wanting to see ghosts would like that),and at Yule burning a yule log(for those with a fireplace.I am Wiccan as you can see.And a gamer to boot so of course I wish my favorite game series included more of my way of life.
