The surprise hit of 2005 returns for more brick-blasting battles and sci-fi spoofing in LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy. As the title suggests, the storyline focuses on the first three films in the Star Wars saga. Players will choose from a variety of LEGOized characters as they attempt to end the Galactic Empire's tyrannical reign. The lighthearted action is still designed for players of all ages and abilities, but there is now more to see and do. New character-specific special moves are available, from Leia's head-knocking slaps to Obi-Wan's helmet-spinning use of the Force to confuse his attackers.
As players progress through familiar movie scenes in the story mode, they can unlock more than 50 characters and even mix-and-match individual parts and accessories to create custom hybrids for use in the "free play" mode. Also new is the ability to build vehicles such as landspeeders, AT-STs, and speeder bikes, or to ride creatures like tauntauns and banthas. The original's cooperative play option returns with a revamped camera and more team-oriented challenges to overcome. As a special bonus, owners of the first game can unlock 54 additional characters for free play, expanding the roster to include Darth Maul and other fan favorites.
Lego Star Wars II is a game that holds up very well, both in terms of gameplay and visuals. Lego games go for a cartoonish approach, which not only makes the game visually stand out, but it also ages better than some of the more realistic games released at the time. In terms of gameplay, it's very fun. The combat and puzzles are engaging, with each level having collectibles that can only be obtained by going back into free-play mode. As a bonus, Lego Star Wars II includes co-op, allowing a second player to join in at any point of the game. There's no penalty or resetting if someone wants to drop out. With the game being over 10 years old I feared that there would have compatibility issues with Windows 10, however this wasn't the case. It in fact ran perfectly, even with the highest settings. If you're looking for a fun game to play, weather playing alone or with a friend, Lego Star Wars II is still a fantastic choice after all these years.Read full review
This is a great "fun" game. An obviously great story line dashed with humour. The game play is simple and entertaining.
A few features I really enjoy are the customizable characters, a few more options to buy in the cantina (the diner in the first one) and a slight bit more interactivity than the first Lego Star Wars.
The only thing I really wish they had changed is the vehicular portion. I would have preferred a more traditional control scheme. I think they could easily do another one, but i hope that they will make it a little more open ended, where you could travel about.
I had a great time playing this PC game, I love legos, so this was a must have game, the game play is very easy for me and fun, also being a star wars fan this was cool, you can also play multi player and you can choose from many star wars characters to play with.
This builds memories that last a lifetime with the family laughing and playing. Why because of a secret that I will tell you later!

Watch the video trailer it is so cute and has the secret! You can go to the star wars website to see the preview.
(It is cheaper on EBAY!!!)
Was that not cute! LOL
That is right! The secret is the DROP IN/DROP OUT CO-OP mode. This way if you are tired from work you can still spend a few minutes with the punk-punks and have a good time. Also if you get addicted to the game and get stuck at a point in the game. Help and more family bonding are a just a yell away!Read full review
Unless you have brain damage, everyone agrees that the original Star Wars trilogy was far superior to the later disastarwars. Combine those memorable characters and plotlines with Legos and you have an clever, retro pc game that would make a Wookie roar...in a happy way, not the "I'm going to tear your droids legs off." way.
The gameplay is solid, the writing has a great sense of humor that isn't afraid to look at itself with an amused fan-eye and it has fun extras like swapping character body parts to create new mix 'n' match characters such as "Princess Han Vader" complete with various powers inherent to each part.
Bottom line: if you like Star Wars, Legos and computer games, you will laugh yourself to the Deathstar. May the torso be with you! (thats the part that carries the lightsaber)Read full review
