Street Fighter is an amazing series. And, the Street Fighter Alpha series is one if its best spin offs. However, if you are looking to own Street Fighter Alpha 2 for snes, be for warned. The game can slow down in places, and every round takes about 5 seconds of freezing before it will go. Most of the time it plays fine, with some notable exceptions being Zangief's and Charlie's stages. If you're playing with a friend make sure not to pick these ones. It still is a great game, but it pushes the limits of the Super Nintendo. If you want a solid Street Fighter title you're still better off with Street Fighter 2 Turbo. Though, if you see this around for cheap, or just need some of the alpha series unique flare on Super Nintendo, you wont be too disappointed.
The psx copy is likely better but this is likely my favorite street fighter game ever.. and it's not all that bad on snes.. I just didn't wanna pay 45 for it at the local retro store and picked this one up for 20..

Street fighter Alpha 2 for the super nintendo was on of the consoles last games to be released as well as the last Street fighter game to appear on a Nintendo console until the game boy advance. the game in itself isn't horrible the main problem with it is that the super nintendo simply couldn't handle all that SFA2 had to offer, and by that I mean this game is SLOW, despite the 2 differnt turbo settings the charecters all move as if they are stuck in quick sand. and that can really put a damper on what could of been a great game. if you are looking for SFA2 to complete your shrine to Ryu and Ken, please do yours self a favor and pick this game up for another console, like the playstation. Compared to the other SF games for the SNES this one simply doesnt have the charm, when it comes to beating bison street fighter 2 TURBO is your best bet. Reguardless the game does offer something, its fun for a while, or if you havnt played any other street fighter game ever.. other than that give this game a TKO... thats why i give Street fighter Alpha 2 for the super nintendo, 2 sonic booms out of 5Read full review

Exellent game, came with a few scuff marks, thats to be expected from these older games. I popped it in and booted up one time. The reason I purchased this game is just for comparison reasons to other ports of the game. Great port considering the capabilities of the SNES at the time. Must have title for any collector and anyone who trying to bust into the retro gaming scene.
one of the best graphics fighting game excellent

I had been wanting this game in my collection for a very long time, and was so happy when i finally found a copy for the price i was willing to pay, I now regret buying this game, the playability is awful due to the very stop start game play, the graphics leave a lot to be desired, the soundtrack is appalling, and it just doesn't seem like there was any effort injected in to the development of this game, and it just doesn't feel like a street fighter game in its self, if you want a true street fighter experience, it has to be Street Fighter 2 Turbo, or Street Fighter 4 for the Play Station 3, other than that, i would steer clear of this and any of the other Street Fighter Alpha series. Who would of thought that this game SF Alpha 2 for snes would have a strange loading time(5 second pause) before your famous que "FIGHT". I thought my super nintendo was dying. But after youtube ing(is that a word now?) this game this seems to be the main complaint. Other than that WOW!! what a balenced early street fighter game. If you are a fan of street fighter and love the old school/fighting genre this is a MUST HAVE. You are most likely going to have to fork out some extra money for this game being that it is a 'rare' item now BUT it is worth every penny.
Going through the arcade mode on this game took me back! As a teenager when I wasn't chasing tail I was holding tournaments on this game with my best friends! Akuma rocks, but I still stick with ken and ryu most of the time! I love how fast this one is in comparison to sf2 and I love the larger cast. makes me want to get a ps1 and 2 just for sf
